The Scrounger's Report
Oct. 27, 1999
These just in...
I took the day off sick yesterday, and was pleased as punch
to find 2 packages waiting for me this morning. Some musically
solid and a few at least semi-collectible discs (all originals):
Malice - Crazy in the Night. 1989. Metal Blade Records.
It's only a 4-song EP, but fans of '80s stright-ahead
heavy metal will enjoy this. Track 2 produced by Paul Sabu.
Vicious Rumors - Digital Dictator. 1988. Roadrunner/Shrapnel (Germany).
Good heavy metal. Production a bit lacking.
Zeelion - S/T. ??? (1998?). Point/AOR Heaven (Germany).
Good stuff! Very similar stylistically to Axel Rudi Pell
and Yngwie Malmsteen stuff, perhaps not quite as much
musical masturbation. Highly recommended.
Tindrum - How About This?!. 1989. RCA (Germany).
I already had "Cool, Calm, and Collected" which I presume
is the semi-GH compilation of material from this disc
and "Drums of War" (which I still need, if anyone has one
for trade), so only a couple of the tunes were "new".
I like this stuff. Good Scandi-AOR, perhaps a tad less
polished than Treat and Skagarack.
Wall of Silence - Shock to the System. 1992. A&M Records.
Again, good stuff! A Mike Slamer project. Worth finding.
What's the discography of this band?
That's all for now...
