THE SCROUNGER'S REPORT

CD Sniper!!

CD Hunting!

The Scrounger's Report

Jan. 08, 1999

It's Snowing, new CDs, time to hunker down and listen.

Well I stayed home sick from work today. It started snowing
mid-afternoon (2-4 inches expected on top of the 18+ we
already have). I figured I'd just stay in for the weekend,
when I got a call from my office: "You have a package from
South Korea..."

Now, normally I'd just wait until Monday, but this package
contains a CD I've been expecting since September. So I
trundled myself across town to pick up said package (you'd
be surprised just how many @&*#$ing morons cannot drive
in snow...winter is a wonderful payback for all those prickish,
macho Sportscar drivers out there :).

So the end result is that I have 2 CDs and a video to play with
this weekend (I'd hoped this plick would send more; he STILL
owes me another boxed set and about 8 CDs....AUGH!!)

Royal Hunt - Closing the Chapter. 1998. Rondel Records (Japan).

According to D.C. Cooper, only 4000 copies of this CD/Video
boxed set were pressed; it was released in Japan only.
It is a live performance of the "Paradox" album. The quality
of the recording, again, like "1996" is phenomenal! Unlike
the vast (98%++) majority of lead vocalists out there, D.C.
sounds as good live as he does in the studio; it's uncanny.
The production is exquisite....I'll watch the video tomorrow
most likely.

Various Artists - Stairway to Heaven. 1998. WEA (Korea).

Now, I've said in the past that I don't like Led Zeppelin.
It's true, I despise Robert Plant's voice. This tribute album
intrigued me because (a) it's Japan/Korea only, and (b) the
